Dumervil rides off into the sunset with 105.5 career sacks, which ranks 26th all-time since the NFL began officially recording the statistic in 1982.

A former fourth-round pick out of Louisville, Dumervil quickly rose to stardom with the Broncos, posting three double-digit sack seasons in six years. He had a career-high 17 sacks in 2009 and repeated the feat in 2014 with the Ravens to set a new franchise record.

Dumervil played 16 games with the 49ers in 2017, leading the team with 6.5 sacks.

Aside from his pass-rushing prowess, Dumervil will be remembered for his involvement in the famous fax machine fiasco of March 2013. Dumervil had agreed to restructure his contract with Denver shortly before his lofty salary for the 2013 season was set to become fully guaranteed, but his agent faxed in paperwork for the new deal six minutes too late. In the meantime, the Broncos released him to save cap space.
