Report: Bears to acquire Mack from Raiders for 2 1st-round picks
The Chicago Bears have an agreement in place to acquire star pass-rusher Khalil Mack from the Oakland Raiders, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Chicago will send two first-round picks to the Raiders in the deal, and it's possible the trade package involves even more assets, sources told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Once the transaction is official, the Bears are expected to sign Mack to a new contract that eclipses the six-year, $135-million extension defensive tackle Aaron Donald signed with the Los Angeles Rams on Friday, Rapoport reports.
Mack, the NFL's Defensive Player of the Year in 2016, held out of all offseason and preseason team activities with the Raiders while seeking a new deal. The 27-year-old is in the final season of his rookie contract.
Through his first four seasons, Mack has earned three Pro Bowl nods and two All-Pro selections. He racked up 78 tackles and 10.5 sacks last year, and registered 40.5 sacks in 64 career games with Oakland.
