With the regular season kicking off Thursday, the Dallas Cowboys have reportedly resumed their pursuit of Earl Thomas.

The Cowboys offered a second-round pick for Thomas, but the Seattle Seahawks weren't interested as they are seeking more compensation for the star safety, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Dallas reportedly balked at the idea of giving up a second-rounder for Thomas in April, around the time of the draft. The Cowboys used the pick on offensive lineman Connor Williams.

Thomas has been holding out for a new contract, which the Seahawks apparently said they won't be giving him. He is reportedly willing to sit until Seattle grants his wish of a trade, or changes its stance on an extension.

The 29-year-old All-Pro safety is the last remaining member of the "Legion of Boom." The Seahawks have already parted ways with franchise stalwarts Richard Sherman and Michael Bennett this offseason.
