NFL fans aren't too happy about the new 'Green Zone' feature

NBC's new "Green Zone" feature made it's regular-season debut during Thursday's opener between the Philadelphia Eagles and Atlanta Falcons, the idea being to highlight the distance to the first-down marker during third downs.

Although it was a well-intended idea, the color shading threw a number of viewers off and it doesn't appear to be gaining traction.

I'll be completely unoriginal and offer my opinion on the green zone. It serves no purpose, makes the screen look cluttered and does nothing to enhance the broadcast visually. Get rid of it.
