Eagles' Jeffery indicates he could miss a few more weeks
The Philadelphia Eagles may be without wide receiver Alshon Jeffery for a little while longer.
Jeffery was asked Thursday night if he is still a few weeks away from returning and he nodded in response, according to Jenny Vrentas of Sports Illustrated.
The 28-year-old underwent shoulder surgery in the offseason.
"Some days I feel great, and some days ... a shoulder injury is pretty tough," Jeffery said, according to Vrentas. He added that he has "a couple more visits with the doctor" before he'll return.
The Eagles' offense struggled without Jeffery in Thursday's season opener against the Atlanta Falcons. Nelson Agholor led the team with eight receptions, but for only 33 yards. Tight end Zach Ertz had a team-high 48 receiving yards on five catches.
Jeffery was activated off the physically unable to perform list last week and placed on the active roster. It was reported that he was expected to miss at least the first two games of the season.
He led all Eagles pass-catchers with nine touchdowns in his first season with the team in 2017.
