Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Fletcher Cox feels the lack of national attention he receives is "disrespectful," according to ESPN's Tim McManus.

The three-time Pro Bowler has started his seventh NFL season with 2.5 sacks through two games and told McManus he plans to continue using his lack of recognition as motivation to capture 2018's Defensive Player of the Year honors.

"You think players just overlook stuff, but when you see your name not mentioned, it just puts a bigger chip on your shoulder when you know that you're supposed to be mentioned as one of the top three players at your position and you're not," Cox said Thursday. "I take that with a full spoon and it just puts a bigger chip on my shoulder, ball out, and show the league why my name should be mentioned when they talk about top players in the league."

The 27-year-old was selected 12th overall by the Eagles in the 2012 NFL Draft. He has compiled 36.5 sacks over 95 career games, adding seven forced fumbles and nine fumble recoveries with two touchdown returns.
