Detroit Lions wide receiver Golden Tate was driving to the team facility on Tuesday morning when he witnessed a two-vehicle accident involving a woman and her young daughter.

After realizing no one else was stopping to help, Tate pulled over and picked up the three-year-old girl, who was sitting in the back seat.

"I didn't even ask. I just picked her up," Tate told Nate Atkins of MLive.com. "I probably should have asked. I guess I did what I would have done if (my daughter) London was in that situation."

Tate said the girl was upset, but didn't appear to be in much physical pain.

DetroitLions.com writer Tim Twentyman witnessed the kind act.

Just glad everyone was ok. Especially the little 3 year old girl https://t.co/fqsNYd58SZ

Tate stuck around for 45 minutes until help arrived. He said no one involved in the accident knew who he was, but a police officer congratulated him on his two-touchdown performance against the Dallas Cowboys two days earlier.
