Giants waive Ereck Flowers
by Michael McClymont from on (#40FD1)
The New York Giants waived tackle Ereck Flowers on Tuesday, the team announced.
New York had been pursuing a trade of its 2015 first-round draft pick, but it appears none were available.
The offensive tackle's struggles have been hard to ignore, as he's accounted for 28 penalties and 18 sacks allowed in his three-plus seasons.
Flowers was benched after another poor performance in Week 2 and was reduced to blocking only on field goals and extra points the last three games.
The Giants selected Flowers ninth overall in 2015, one pick before the Los Angeles Rams drafted running back Todd Gurley.
