Report: Vikings' Cook to return, see half of offensive snaps vs. Cardinals
Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook is expected to return to the lineup on Sunday after missing Week 5 with a hamstring injury, but he won't get a full workload, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports, citing a source.
Cook will only see about half of the team's offensive snaps against the Arizona Cardinals, according to Schefter, as his hamstring is still not at full strength.
He sat out Week 3 after appearing in the first two weeks of the season and while he returned in Week 4, he only saw 10 carries for 20 yards in a loss to the Los Angeles Rams and missed the subsequent game.
Latavius Murray took the starting job last week and rushed 11 times for 42 yards in a Week 5 win over the Philadelphia Eagles. He figures to share snaps with Cook against the Cardinals on Sunday.
Cook has carried the ball 36 times for 98 yards this season, averaging just 2.7 yards per carry, while Murray has recorded 30 carries for 106 yards, averaging 3.5 yards per carry.
