The Seattle Seahawks will likely welcome back a familiar face to their defense on Sunday.

Veteran linebacker K.J. Wright is expected to make his season debut against the Detroit Lions after sitting out the first seven weeks while recovering from offseason arthroscopic knee surgery.

Wright was a limited participant in practice on Wednesday, but he wasn't on the Seahawks' injury reports Thursday and Friday.

"I am glad to be back. Very glad," Wright said on Thursday, via John Boyle of Seahawks.com.

The Seahawks' defense lost venerable figures Richard Sherman, Kam Chancellor, Michael Bennett, and Cliff Avril this offseason, and star safety Earl Thomas suffered a season-ending leg injury in Week 4.

Wright, a Pro Bowler and Super Bowl champion, should slide in next to Bobby Wagner in the middle of Seattle's defense.
