Rams' Gurley: 'Forget fantasy and forget Vegas'

Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley is a leading MVP candidate, but he doesn't care about your fantasy football team.

With his team holding a 29-27 lead over the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, the Rams recovered a fumble on a kickoff return and looked poised to score again with just over a minute remaining. On third-and-10 from the Packers' 21-yard line, Gurley had a clear path to the end zone on an outside run. But he stopped running and was tackled, and then on the next play the Rams took a knee to run out the clock.

Gurley's decision to stay out of the end zone proved costly for some, as the Rams entered the game as 7.5-point favorites, and fantasy owners were hoping Gurley would add to another tremendous day. However, the two-time Pro Bowler simply doesn't care.

"Man, forget fantasy and forget Vegas," Gurley said, via ESPN's David Purdum. "We got the win, so that's all that matters."

The Rams superstar rushed for 114 yards on 25 carries during the win while also leading his team in receiving with six catches for 81 yards and a touchdown.

Los Angeles moved to 8-0, and the Rams are the NFL's lone unbeaten team largely due to Gurley's outstanding campaign. So something must be working, even if bettors and fantasy owners don't necessarily agree.
