The Baltimore Ravens have acquired running back Ty Montgomery from the Green Bay Packers, the team announced Tuesday.

Although the compensation wasn't confirmed by either team, the Packers reportedly received a 2020 seventh-round pick, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Montgomery drew intense scrutiny after receiving a kickoff and deciding to take it out of the end zone late in the fourth quarter against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday. The Packers were trailing 29-27 and preparing for a final drive, and the possibility of beating the undefeated Rams with a last-second field goal. However, Montgomery fumbled on the return, and the Rams ran the clock out on the ensuing drive.

Packers head coach Mike McCarthy told reporters on Monday that Montgomery was supposed to take a touchback. Aaron Rodgers was reportedly furious, and several unnamed teammates blasted Montgomery's decision to take the ball out of the end zone, citing their quarterback's frequent late-game heroics.

Montgomery fired back after learning of his teammates' public criticism, believing that his character was unfairly under attack. He also said the Packers preached a family environment, then turned on him after the costly fumble.

The 25-year-old has rushed for 105 yards and a touchdown on 26 carries in 2018, adding 15 receptions for 170 yards over seven games.

Montgomery was converted from wide receiver to running back after joining the Packers. He spent the first four seasons of his career with Green Bay.
