Jon Gruden hasn't lost confidence in his master plan, even after watching the Oakland Raiders hit rock bottom Thursday with a 34-3 trouncing at the hands of the San Francisco 49ers.

"I know it's not looking pretty right now," Gruden said postgame. "I've heard a lot of negativity over the last six or seven months, and rightfully so, but we're gonna build a championship football team here."

Gruden, who's in the first season of a monstrous 10-year deal with the Raiders, saw Oakland sink to 1-7 with the loss to the rival 49ers, who improved to 2-7 with the win.

The Raiders looked helpless against San Fransisco and third-string quarterback Nick Mullens, who threw for 262 yards and three touchdowns while posting a 151.9 quarterback rating in his NFL debut.

"I know there were some big plays," Gruden conceded. "I thought the guys fought until the end."

The Raiders and New York Giants are the only teams that have yet to win two games this year.
