Dolphins' Jones doesn't regret pulling himself from game

Pro Bowl safety Reshad Jones doesn't regret removing himself from the Miami Dolphins' game last week, but he doesn't expect it will happen again.

Jones said Tuesday he and the coaching staff are "all on the same page now" after last week's kerfuffle, according to the Palm Beach Post's Joe Schad.

"Not at all," he responded when asked if he had any regrets about leaving the game.

It's still unclear what exactly prompted Jones to pull himself out of the contest at the end of the first quarter, but the rotation defensive coordinator Matt Burke implemented forced the two-time Pro Bowler to come out of the game at one point.

Whatever the issue was, it doesn't appear to be a problem going forward.

"That's behind us," Jones said.

"Whatever the coaching staff says, we have to do," he added. "That's what we're willing to do."

Jones noted that he addressed the situation with head coach Adam Gase after Miami's 13-6 win over the New York Jets, and with his teammates. He dispelled the notion that he quit on the Dolphins by taking himself out of the affair.

"I've never been a quitter," he said. "I've been here nine years playing my ass off for this team. I've never been a quitter, never will. I'm going to keep on doing what I need to do to help this team win football games."

Jones, who's spent his entire career with the Dolphins, has 35 tackles and two interceptions in seven appearances this season.
