Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Ronald Darby tore his ACL during Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys and is out for the rest of the season, head coach Doug Pederson confirmed Monday during his media availability.

Darby featured as the Eagles' top cornerback and is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season. The 24-year-old recorded 43 tackles, 12 pass deflections, and an interception in nine games.

Rasul Douglas and Cre'von LeBlanc will likely compete for increased snaps in Darby's absence.

It's been a difficult year for the Eagles' defense, as the defending champions have already lost Rodney McLeod and Derek Barnett to season-ending injuries.
