Wentz: Eagles need to do better job of handling body language
Several members of the Philadelphia Eagles were visibly frustrated during Sunday's 48-7 loss to the New Orleans Saints.
Quarterback Carson Wentz punched the air while walking to the sideline following an interception, while safety Malcolm Jenkins flipped two middle fingers toward Saints head coach Sean Payton after he gave up a 37-yard touchdown catch to running back Alvin Kamara on a fourth-and-7 play in the fourth quarter with the game already well in hand for New Orleans.
Wentz says the Eagles needs to do a better job of handling their emotions when things aren't going in the team's favor.
"What I said after the game is that we won't be a team that quits. We won't be a team that lays down," Wentz said, according to Rob Maaddi of The Associated Press. "There's something that we can see on film from how we handled our body language and different things like that, myself included, that's uncharacteristic of who we are. It's really up to the leaders, Malcolm, myself, other leaders to hold everyone accountable and keep plugging along."
The reigning Super Bowl champions dropped a second consecutive game in Week 11 to fall to 4-6 on the season and third place in the NFC East.
They'll hope to bounce back against the 3-7 New York Giants in Week 12.
