Cleveland Browns offensive coordinator Freddie Kitchens intimated Thursday that he agreed with quarterback Baker Mayfield's scathing remarks about former head coach Hue Jackson.

"I don't have a problem with Baker saying anything like that," Kitchens told Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com. "I don't know when it became big news to speak the truth."

Since defeating Jackson's new team - the Bengals - on Sunday, Mayfield criticized Jackson for running to a division rival, called him "fake" in an Instagram comment, and later said he didn't regret any of it. Mayfield also snubbed Jackson's attempt at a hug after their respective teams faced off in Cincinnati.

"Baker's not going to blow smoke up anybody's ass," Kitchens added. "I'm standing behind Baker Mayfield. I'm standing behind him and these players in this locker room."

Kitchens has had Mayfield firing on all cylinders since assuming play-calling duties from Todd Haley, who was fired along with Jackson on Oct. 29. The Browns are 2-1 since making the switch, while Mayfield has thrown nine touchdowns against one interception over his last three games.
