The Jacksonville Jaguars are expected to part ways with much-maligned quarterback Blake Bortles in the offseason, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Jacksonville could have difficulty trading Bortles, who signed a three-year, $54-million contract last offseason. The team would be forced to swallow a large dead cap number if it releases the quarterback.

Bortles, the third overall pick in the 2014 draft, was benched after Week 12 when the Jags were mired in a seven-game losing streak.

The 26-year-old has proven to be an adequate game manager, but he's struggled when asked to be the focal point of the offense. The Jaguars reached the AFC Championship Game last season, but the team currently sits last in the AFC South division with a 4-9 record.

In 11 games this season, Bortles has thrown for 2,572 yards with 13 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
