Chicago Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky went by the nickname "Favre" in high school and even drove a Buick LeSabre with the license plate "FAVRE 10." He'd prefer not to be called that now, though.

Speaking Wednesday ahead of the Bears' Week 15 matchup against the Green Bay Packers, Trubisky said he wants to leave the nickname in the past.

"I'm done with that nickname," he told reporters, according to WBAY-TV's Matt Hietpas. "Nobody calls me that no more ... I don't play for Green Bay. It was just a nickname back in the day so I'm the Chicago Bears quarterback now."

Trubisky was given the nickname by Jeff Grubich, his offensive coordinator during his sophomore and junior seasons at Mentor High School in Ohio.

"We were in a game and he's rolling to the right and he plants and tries to throw the football all the way back to the left," Grubich told Adam L. Jahns of the Chicago Sun-Times. "It gets picked off and taken to the house. He comes back to the sideline, and he's all just fired up at himself and I go, 'Who the hell do you think you are? Brett Favre?'"
