Report: Texans' Hopkins will play vs. Eagles despite ankle injury
Houston Texans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins will play Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles despite battling an ankle injury, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and James Palmer.
Hopkins tested his ankle on the field during pregame warmups and told Palmer he's good to go.
The Texans hold the top spot in the AFC South with a record of 10-4, one win clear of the Tennessee Titans who topped the Washington Redskins on Saturday. The Indianapolis Colts enter the day two wins back of the Texans at 8-6.
Hopkins is coming off a Week 15 outing against the New York Jets in which he caught 10 of 11 targets for 170 yards and two touchdowns. The 26-year-old has 94 receptions for 1,321 yards and 11 touchdowns over 14 games this season.
Wide receivers Demaryius Thomas and DeAndre Carter will also be taking on bigger roles Sunday as rookie Keke Coutee was ruled out with a hamstring injury.
