Rams' Gurley originally suffered knee injury in season opener: 'It was bad'
It appears Todd Gurley has been hampered by a knee injury for much longer than originally thought.
The Los Angeles Rams running back said his knee "felt like s---" after his Week 1 battle with the Oakland Raiders.
"It was bad," Gurley told ESPN's Lindsey Thiry. "I was contemplating on giving the Rams back their money and everything. It was bad. It was real bad."
Gurley missed the Rams' Week 16 win over the Arizona Cardinals while nursing the injury. Head coach Sean McVay said the star rusher is questionable for Sunday's season finale after not practicing Thursday, according to Gary Klein of the Los Angeles Times.
"Some days you wake up feeling pain," Gurley said. "Some days you wake up feeling much better."
"I could've played (versus Arizona)," he continued. "But who knows how long I would've been able to play."
Despite being slowed by the injury, the fourth-year back has accumulated 1,251 rushing yards, 580 receiving yards, and 21 total touchdowns across 14 games in 2018.
