Rodgers suffers concussion in season finale vs. Lions
Green Bay Packers star quarterback Aaron Rodgers suffered a concussion in the second quarter of Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions, the team announced.
DeShone Kizer replaced Rodgers on the field.
The Packers have long since been eliminated from playoff contention, but Rodgers has insisted on finishing the season despite dealing with a knee injury for the majority of the year and sustaining a groin injury several weeks ago.
Even if Rodgers had passed the concussion tests, it was unlikely Green Bay would've risked allowing him to re-enter the game.
The two-time NFL MVP set a franchise record with his seventh 4,000-yard season and threw 25 touchdowns with just two interceptions prior to Week 17.
