Elliott hyped for wild-card game vs. Seahawks: 'I'm ready to go right now'
Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott's day off Sunday against the New York Giants has him well prepared for his first playoff game since his rookie season on Saturday night.
"Normally after a real game I'm not feeling ready to play until about Friday, Saturday, but I'm ready to go right now," Elliott said Tuesday, according to Todd Archer of ESPN.
Elliott ran for 125 yards on 22 carries in a divisional-round loss to the Green Bay Packers in 2016 to cap an All-Pro rookie campaign in which he led the league in rushing attempts and yards after being selected fourth overall.
This season, he was named to his second Pro Bowl and again led the league in both attempts and yards on the ground, finishing second behind Giants rookie back Saquon Barkley in scrimmage yards (2,001). Despite playing just 15 games, Elliott also led the Cowboys with 77 receptions.
He's predicting his busy season will continue against the Seattle Seahawks in the wild-card round and feels the one-game rest will prove beneficial.
"Just knowing that we're going into these playoffs, I'm going to have the highest workload I probably had all season," Elliott said. "Just great, getting fresh and ready going into this last stretch of the season and ready for whatever they throw at me."
The Seahawks' defense ranked 13th against the run this season, allowing 113.2 yards per game on the ground.
