The Los Angeles Chargers are expected to have the services of Pro Bowl running back Melvin Gordon for Sunday's divisional-round game against the New England Patriots after he suffered a knee sprain on Wild Card Weekend, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

"Gordon is expected to be out there, just may not exactly look like his old self," Rapoport said on "NFL Total Access."

Rapoport likened Gordon's left knee injury to the one he suffered during the regular season - to his other knee - which forced him to miss several games down the stretch.

The 25-year-old runner was forced out of the Chargers' wild-card game against the Baltimore Ravens in the first quarter, but he returned to finish the contest with 17 carries for 40 yards and a touchdown.

Backup running back Austin Ekeler saw a slightly elevated role with Gordon hampered by the injury and finished the game with 11 carries for 29 yards and four receptions for 14 yards.
