Bears sign Bobby Massie to 4-year extension
The Chicago Bears signed offensive tackle Bobby Massie to a four-year contract extension Saturday, the team announced.
The deal is reportedly worth more than $8 million per season, sources told NFL.com's Ian Rapoport.
"Bobby has been an important part of our offensive line the past three years and has shown steady improvement during that time," Bears general manager Ryan Pace said in a statement. "Bobby has a tremendous work ethic and has displayed the kind of toughness and consistency we want in our players. More importantly, he is a great teammate and we're excited to keep him in the fold."
Massie featured at right tackle for the Bears, starting all 16 games during the 2018 season.
He was scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent this summer.
The 29-year-old was graded as the 29th-best offensive tackle in the NFL by Pro Football Focus.
