Jets' Adams doesn't regret hit on Patriots mascot: 'It was all for the kids'
New York Jets safety Jamal Adams has no regrets about leveling the New England Patriots' mascot at the Pro Bowl.
"Nah, at the end of the day it was all for the kids," Adams told TMZ Sports at the Merging Vets and Players Super Bowl kickoff party Wednesday night.
Adams added that he hasn't reached out to the mascot, and isn't worried about being sued.
The defender initially said he heard the man inside the Pat Patriot costume was hospitalized as a result of the hit. However, a Patriots spokesperson told Mark Daniels of the Providence Journal that was inaccurate, and that the man received treatment from an on-site medic.
Additionally, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Monday that the man had been checked for a concussion and was dealing with jaw, neck, and back soreness, but still plans on being at Super Bowl LIII.
