Cowboys name Kellen Moore offensive coordinator
The Dallas Cowboys named Kellen Moore their new offensive coordinator on Thursday.
Jon Kitna will take over as the team's quarterbacks coach.
Moore spent the 2018 season as the Cowboys' quarterbacks coach after ending his playing career. The 29-year-old played six seasons in the NFL split between the Detroit Lions (2012 to 2014) and the Cowboys (2015 to 2017).
Moore is expected to call plays in his new role, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott endorsed Moore, who was his backup in 2016.
"He's special," Prescott told the team's website. "He knows a lot about the game, just the way he sees the game, the way he's ahead of the game. He can bring a lot to us, a lot of creativity."
Moore replaces Scott Linehan, who was dismissed on Jan. 18.
