Dr. Pawel Niemczuk, Chief Veterinary Officer with the Poland Ministry of Agriculture notified the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) of a case of atypical bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE), or "Mad cow disease" among cattle on a Mirsk, Dolnoslaskie farm in southwestern Poland.
