The NFL's Super Bowl commercial, celebrating the upcoming 100th season, featured a collection of current and retired football stars crashing into each other and onto tables.

The spot was a hit with the general public, drawing more than 3.4-million views on YouTube, and the players featured in the commercial were willing to go above and beyond to ensure the tackles looked as realistic as possible.

"What was funny is a lot of the players were like, 'I'll do my own hit, I'll do my own hit,'" director Peter Berg told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport on his "RapSheet and Friends" podcast.

"LaDainian Tomlinson actually did his own hit but he ran into stuntmen. ... A lot of the football players wanted to do their own hits and then they saw the stuntmen doing them and they were like, 'Damn.'"

Berg said Von Miller and Barry Sanders were among the players who also eschewed the use of a stunt double.
