Dave Hanley's "mad love" for the Hamilton community has been immortalized outside restaurant row on King William Street. A statue in his memory by local artist Alica Dusil was unveiled on Sunday. Hanley is credited with helping boost the city's culinary reputation after moving here in 2013 and founding Pop Up Hamilton with his wife, Nicole. Hanley died in September 2017 from a heart attack. That same year, he was posthumously named the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce's citizen of the year. The statue features a wine bottle and a fedora, Hanley's trademark hat of choice.
