A former teacher arrested in 2016 along with eight other people after a seven-year-old girl was made available for sexual services on Craigslist has pleaded guilty to a child pornography charge in Niagara. Geoffrey Burnet, 50, appeared in Ontario Court of Justice in St. Catharines on Friday and pleaded guilty to a single count of possession of child pornography. Details surrounding the crime are expected to be discussed when Burnet, a resident of Kitchener, returns to court Sept. 13 for sentencing. Police executed a search warrant at a St. Catharines residence and seized a computer and various other devices. Police also seized from Burnet a cellphone, thumb drive and a laptop. The devices contained almost 700 images of child pornography. Burnet was working at Columbia International College, a private school in Hamilton, at the time of his arrest. He had previously worked as a supply teacher at a number of schools in Hamilton.
