The Jacksonville Jaguars insist their superstar cornerback isn't available for trade this offseason.

General manager Dave Caldwell threw cold water on the trade rumors that followed Jalen Ramsey last season, stating emphatically Wednesday that he won't be moved.

"We're not going to trade Jalen," Caldwell said on "PFT Live" from the NFL Scouting Combine, according to Pro Football Talk's Michael David Smith. "When you have a player that's one of the top at his position, it's hard to replace that player."

Talk of the Jaguars shopping Ramsey first surfaced in November, when ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that the star defensive back's behavior was slowly forcing the team to a point where it would consider trading him in the offseason.

Jacksonville quickly released a statement saying there was "no truth to this rumor."

"He's highly competitive and I think sometimes that might get the most of him," Caldwell said. "He just had to learn to curtail some of that stuff."

Ramsey was quick to establish himself among the NFL's premier cornerbacks after being selected fifth overall in the 2016 draft. Caldwell also confirmed Wednesday that the team plans to exercise the fifth-year option on Ramsey's contract, a decision due this spring that would keep him under team control through the 2020 campaign.
