Jets open to dealing No. 3 pick
The New York Jets traded up to the third overall pick in the 2018 draft to select their franchise quarterback. This year, the team is interested in trading down from that same slot.
Jets general manager Mike Maccagnan said Wednesday that he would field calls from those interested in acquiring the third pick in April's draft.
"Right now, we feel good at No. 3, but I'd definitely say if there's an opportunity to trade down, we would absolutely look at it," Maccagnan said, according to ESPN's Rich Cimini.
Maccagnan traded last year's sixth overall pick and three second-rounders to the Indianapolis Colts and selected Sam Darnold at No. 3. Now, the Jets are offering the same opportunity to a QB-needy franchise.
"If there are teams out there looking to go chase a quarterback, I think we're in a pretty good position to be in," Maccagnan said. "I don't necessarily like how we got the third pick (finishing 4-12 in 2018), but it's a good pick to have."
