With the NFL salary cap for the upcoming season set at $188.2 million, the league also announced the values of franchise and transition tags for 2019 on Friday.

NFL teams can use franchise and transition tags to retain the rights to an impending free agent.

The tagging window opened on Feb. 19 and ends on March 5.

Only San Francisco 49ers kicker Robbie Gould has received the franchise tag so far.

Dallas Cowboys defensive end Demarcus Lawrence and Houston Texans pass-rusher Jadeveon Clowney are strong candidates for the franchise tag.
