The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were reportedly set to use their tag on left tackle Donovan Smith before coming to terms on a three-year deal.

Clubs have until July 15 to sign their designated players to multi-year contracts or extensions. Any player who signs the franchise tender will play the 2019 season on a fully guaranteed one-year deal for a predetermined salary.

The New York Giants, Baltimore Ravens, and New England Patriots all had strong franchise candidates but chose to let their stars test free agency.
