The Pittsburgh Steelers have agreed to a three-year extension with Maurkice Pouncey, the team announced Thursday.

The deal is worth $29 million in base salary, a source told Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. But ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Pouncey's contract could pay him an average of $11 million a year, making him the NFL's highest-paid center.

Pittsburgh also signed guard Ramon Foster, slated to become an unrestricted free agent on March 13, to a two-year deal. His new contract is worth $8.25 million, Dulac reports, citing a source.

Pouncey, a first-round pick of the Steelers in 2010, has been selected to the Pro Bowl seven times during his eight-year career.

Pittsburgh's offensive line gave up just 24 sacks last season, the fourth-fewest in the NFL.
