The Jacksonville Jaguars released defensive tackle Malik Jackson, running back Carlos Hyde, safety Tashaun Gipson, and offensive tackle Jermey Parnell, the team announced Friday.

The four moves open roughly $26 million in cap space for Jacksonville entering free agency.

Jackson signed a six-year, $85.5-million contract with the Jaguars in March 2016. His playing time was reduced in the second half of last season, as he started only one of the final seven games.

He contributed 32 tackles and 3.5 sacks for the Jaguars in 2018, a drop-off from the 39 tackles and eight sacks he accrued the year prior. The 29-year-old spent four seasons with the Denver Broncos before joining the Jaguars as one of the top free agents in the 2016 class.

Hyde came to Jacksonville in a midseason trade with the Cleveland Browns. He rushed for 189 yards in eight appearances for the Jaguars.

Gipson never missed a game in all three campaigns with the Jaguars. He registered 54 tackles and one interception last season.
