Eichel suspended 2 games for head check on Soderberg

Buffalo Sabres captain Jack Eichel has been suspended two games for his hit to the head of Colorado Avalanche forward Carl Soderberg on Saturday, the Department of Player Safety announced Sunday.
Here's a look at the play, for which Eichel received a two-minute minor penalty:

The suspension marks the first of Eichel's career.
The check was similar to the hit that earned fellow 2015 draftee Connor McDavid a two-game suspension in February.
