The Denver Broncos will sign offensive tackle Ja'Wuan James to a four-year, $52-million contract when free agency officially opens Wednesday, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

James' big-money deal, paying him an average of $13 million per season, will include $32 million in guarantees, according to Schefter. Assuming he continues to play right tackle in Denver, the annual average would push him past Lane Johnson as the NFL's highest-paid player at the position.

A first-round pick in 2015, James started 62 games across five seasons in Miami before earning the opportunity to test the free-agent market.

Along with 2017 first-rounder Garett Bolles, the 26-year-old James now gives the Broncos a young pair of bookend tackles to build around up front.
