Report: Wilson gives Seahawks April 15 deadline for extension
Russell Wilson has told the Seattle Seahawks he wants a contract extension by April 15, a source informed Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times.
The Pro Bowl quarterback is entering the final season of a four-year, $87.6-million pact.
The Seahawks have reportedly been negotiating an extension with Wilson in recent days. He's believed to want an agreement in place by mid-April when Seattle starts its offseason workout program.
Contract talks between the two sides aren't thought to be too far along, sources told Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Wilson has spent his entire seven-year career with the Seahawks, leading the franchise to a pair of Super Bowl appearances and one championship. He threw for 3,448 yards with 35 touchdowns and seven interceptions across 16 outings last year.
The 30-year-old said recently that his next contract could make him the NFL's highest-paid player.
