Robert Griffin III believes he could have been the starting quarterback of the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2019.

The Baltimore Ravens quarterback said Jacksonville tried to trade for him at the end of the 2018 preseason and again prior to October's trade deadline. Last season's interest was the main reason Griffin waited to re-sign with Baltimore until the Jaguars signed Nick Foles.

"We knew that was an opportunity and there'd be a chance if things didn't work out with Nick Foles," Griffin told Ravens podcast "The Lounge," according to ESPN's Jamison Hensley. "We just wanted to wait and see what would happen."

Before deciding to re-up with the Ravens on a two-year contract, Griffin said he was in talks with other teams, including the Miami Dolphins.

"I ultimately felt like those situations weren't good," Griffin said. "I'm not looking to go somewhere and be a bridge or be there for a season and go somewhere else. I'm looking for stability and opportunity. For me right now, Baltimore is the best situation."

Griffin signed with the Ravens in 2018 after being out of the league the year prior. He appeared in three games, throwing just six passes.
