Report: Giants, Shepard finalizing 4-year, $41M extension
The New York Giants are reportedly finalizing a four-year, $41-million extension with wide receiver Sterling Shepard, a source told NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.
Shepard's new deal includes $21.3 million in guaranteed money, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
A second-round pick in 2016, Shepard was entering the final year of his rookie deal.
The 25-year-old is set to see an increase in targets after New York traded Odell Beckham Jr. to the Cleveland Browns. He'll likely start opposite Golden Tate, who inked a four-year, $37.5-million contract with the Giants in March.
Shepard set career highs in targets (107), catches (66), and receiving yards (872) last season.
