Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz is still recovering from the back injury that ended his 2018 campaign, though he expects to be ready for organized team activities in May.

"That's the goal," Wentz said Monday, according to Kevin Patra of NFL.com. "But there really is no timetable, no rush. But I feel good with the progression I've been on."

Wentz, who labeled himself "week-to-week," missed the final three games of the regular season and the Eagles' two playoff contests after being shut down with a stress fracture.

The former No. 2 overall pick has had his last two seasons derailed by injury, as an ACL tear prematurely ended his 2017 campaign.

"It's still getting there," he said of his back. "Some of this stuff just takes time, but that's not really the main concern, it's just kind of how I feel. I feel pretty good with where I'm at."

Wentz added that he's confident he'll be able to end concerns about his durability by staying on the field in 2019.

"I get it. I'm looking forward to putting those (questions) behind me," he said. "I understand it's a part of this league, it's a physical league and things happen. But it's one of those things that's out of my control, and I look forward to putting that behind me."

The 26-year-old threw for 3,074 yards with 21 touchdowns and seven interceptions over 11 appearances last year. He missed the first two games of the season while recovering from the ACL injury.
