The New York Jets traded up to No. 3 overall last year, and they appear willing to make another deal in 2019.

The Jets seem "determined" to trade down from the third overall pick in next week's draft, sources told SNY's Ralph Vacchiano.

General manager Mike Maccagnan's goal in a potential trade is to at least recoup the second-round pick his team gave up last year when the Jets made a deal with the Indianapolis Colts to move up from No. 6 overall to No. 3, a source told Vacchiano.

New York, who was in the market to obtain a franchise quarterback last offseason, selected Sam Darnold with the acquired pick.

Maccagnan previously stated he was willing to listen to offers for his team's first-rounder and even admitted he'd had conversations with other clubs regarding a possible deal at the NFL owners meetings.

A number of high-quality defensive prospects - including Nick Bosa, Quinnen Williams, and Josh Allen - are expected to be in contention for the Jets' top selection if the team stays put.
