Kingsbury not committing to Murray for Week 1: 'We'll see'

The Arizona Cardinals used the first overall pick of the 2018 NFL Draft to land Kyler Murray as their new franchise quarterback, but there's no guarantee he'll begin his rookie season under center.

"We'll see," head coach Kliff Kingsbury told "The Jim Rome Show" on Wednesday. "We're still working through all those things. We have Brett Hundley here - who we're very excited about - but we'll see where that kind of goes."

Hundley, a 2015 fifth-round pick, last started a game in 2017 with the Green Bay Packers during Aaron Rodgers' injury-shortened season. The Cardinals signed him in March and stated in their official announcement that the 25-year-old was brought aboard as a backup.

It's hard to envision any scenario - aside from an injury - that keeps Murray from beginning the year as the team's starting quarterback. But four months from the start of the season, Arizona's rookie coach is intent on making the No. 1 draft pick earn his spot on the roster.
