McCoy amid absence from Bucs: I work, don't question me
After not joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for various voluntary offseason programs, defensive tackle Gerald McCoy posted about his personal workouts Sunday on Instagram.
"Cinco de Mayo,'' McCoy said. "Everybody out, probably getting ready to go drink, probably drinking right now. No matter. You want to question me? See what I do on Cinco de Mayo. I work. ... I work. Don't you ever question me."

McCoy's comments could be a response to new Bucs head coach Bruce Arians, who questioned the six-time Pro Bowler's recent effectiveness earlier this offseason. Arians also directed the veteran not to attend the club's voluntary workouts.
Earlier reports suggested McCoy could be cut or traded before Week 1.
In April, general manager Jason Licht said there hadn't been any developments with McCoy, whose status remains in flux as the Bucs install a 3-4 defense under new defensive coordinator Todd Bowles. McCoy has spent most of his career in a 4-3 set.
McCoy totaled 28 tackles with six sacks and a team-high 21 quarterback hits in 2018. He carries a $13-million cap hit into the 2019 season, but none of that money is guaranteed.
