Kyler Murray took part in an NFL practice for the first time Friday and he came away from it ... sore.

The No. 1 pick in this year's draft finished his first day of Arizona Cardinals rookie minicamp with a noticeable limp and admitted afterward that his feet "hurt a little bit."

The cause of his discomfort? According to head coach Kliff Kingsbury, Murray didn't get the right cleats delivered in time for the session.

"I think he'll be alright," Kingsbury said with a smile. "I guess the cleats he wanted didn't get delivered, but we'll try to get those here tomorrow."

Asked how his franchise quarterback performed for the first time on an NFL field, Kingsbury seemed satisfied.

"Not bad. Some familiarity with the system helps," he said. "He can really throw it. He's got a presence about himself. I liked how he operated.

"He's been born and bred to do this."
