The Chicago Blackhawks and forward Dominik Kubalik agreed to a one-year contract worth $925,000, the team announced Wednesday.

The 23-year-old Czech was acquired Jan. 24 from the Los Angeles Kings, who drafted him in the seventh round (191st overall) in 2013.

Kubalik is 23 and currently leads the Swiss league in scoring by 6 points (43 pts in 37 games).

Kubalik had a career season for HC Ambri-Piotta in Switzerland's National League, where he posted 57 points in 50 games and earned league MVP honors.

The left winger represented the Czech Republic in international play at the PyeongChang Games and more recently at the 2019 IIHF World Championship. He tied for seventh at the worlds with six goals in 10 games.
