Bell on 2019 season: 'I hope everybody's ready'

Despite not playing in 2018, Le'Veon Bell doesn't want anyone to forget his status as one of the NFL's top running backs.

Bell made his New York Jets debut Tuesday during mandatory minicamp practices and claimed the league "will remember" how talented he is when he plays in a game again, according to SNY's Manish Mehta.

"I hope everybody's ready," he added.

The Jets want to be selective while working Bell back to action during camp, but the star rusher was excited to hit the field for the first time since January 2018.

"I came into the building yesterday ... it just felt so good," he said, per ESPN's Rich Cimini. "I'm excited. I went out there for my first practice in over a year. It was amazing, just running around, building trash talk, catching balls, and just sweating in your helmet - things that we take for granted."

New York signed Bell to a four-year, $52.5-million contract in March following the running back's six-year career with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Bell is also excited to work with new Jets head coach Adam Gase, an offensive-minded boss who's attempting to improve the play of second-year quarterback Sam Darnold.

"I picture this scheme being amazing for me," Bell said, according to Mehta. "I just want enough touches to win the game."
