The Oakland Raiders will be featured on this year's HBO TV show "Hard Knocks," the team announced Tuesday.

"Everybody wants to be a Raider. Now they'll find out what it takes to become one," team owner Mark Davis said.

Oakland has been active this offseason, acquiring players with big personalities like Antonio Brown, Vontaze Burfict, and Richie Incognito. Head coach Jon Gruden is also well-known for his large persona.

The Raiders were one of five teams eligible for the television show. Teams are exempt from being chosen if they are entering their first year with a new head coach, have made the playoffs in the past two seasons, or have been featured in the series in the past 10 years.

Other teams that could've been chosen for the show were the Detroit Lions, New York Giants, San Francisco 49ers, and Washington Redskins.

The Raiders, who had three first-round picks in the 2019 NFL Draft, finished the 2018 regular season with a 4-12 record.

The five-episode season will premiere Aug. 6.
